To engage the readers….
| Have I used paragraphs to organise my ideas to interest the reader? |
| Have I checked my spelling? Have I correctly spelt stage 3 appropriate words and some difficult words? |
| Have I checked my use of punctuation such as capital letters, full stops, commas, question marks, colon and semi-colons? Have I used paragraphs? |
| Have I learned how to punctuate conversation/dialogue or can I ask for help with this? Does each character’s speech start on a new line? |
| Have I checked to make sure the conversation/dialogue is necessary to enhance the flow of the story? |
| Does my narrative have an orientation, complication and resolution? |
| Does my recount have an orientation, sequence of events and conclusion? |
| Have I strived to have a strong, convincing conclusion to my story? The final paragraph should leave the readers/judges wanting more. |
| Have I given enough thought to the title of my story? It should leave my readers/judges thinking that I have chosen an appropriate title that adds value to my story – it will leave my story readers/judges thinking how creative AND clever I have been. |
| Have I given my story a thorough edit which will amaze the readers/judges? |
| Have I written a very imaginative and interesting text that the reader will enjoy? |
| Have I used correct grammar in my writing using interesting and descriptive noun and verb groups? |
